While custom-mixed paint is common in the US, it was a relatively foreign concept in the UK. Valspar wanted to open people up to their millions of colors, allowing them to find the perfect color for them. Through packaging design and a custom in-store Colour Centre, Valspar urged people to "see yourself in colour." The introduction of the Colour Centre resulted in a 112% increase in tinted paint sales without any advertising.
